We like this helmet for adventure races like the Rat Race Urban Adventure Series purely for its value for money versatility. Most other certified multisport helmets cost far more and though they may be more feature filled, they can be a bit steep if you're only getting into Rat Races or only do one a year. That's why the Edelrid Shield is such good value for money as it will do the job of both bike and climbing helmet at the price you'd pay for only one of them.
With a weight of just 330 Grams this helmet offers a light weight alternative to using two separate helmets. The easy to adjust Disc fit system is useable even with gloves on. The helmet sits very comfortably and is certified for biking as well making it a good travel alternative for an alpine bike and climb tour.
Also features clips to hold a headtorch in place and a microfleece chinguard pad for extra comfort
